Ordained Bishop of Raphoe on 28 March 1982
Appointed Bishop of Derry on 1 October 1994
Installed as Bishop of Derry on 6 November 1994

Hegarty's motto "Maria Advocata Nostra" means "Mary our Advocate". He entrusts his episcopate to the Mother of Christ as he expresses the strong Marian devotion of the people of Ireland

Ordained priest on 19June 1960.
Ordained Titular Bishop of Sidnacestre and Auxiliary Bishop of Derry on 20 March 1988.




"CHRISTUS JESUS SPES NOSTRA"

Bishop Lagan's Motto "Christus Jesus Spes Nostra" means "Christ Jesus our hope". It is taken from the address at the beginning of the first letter of St. Paul to Timothy: "From Paul, apostle of Christ Jesus, appointed by command of God and of Christ Jesus our hope, to Timothy, true child of mine in the faith; wishing you grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Christ Jesus our Lord".

Retired Bishop of Derry

Ordained priest on 16 March 1957.
Ordained Bishop of Derry on 31 March 1974.
Retired as Bishop of Derry and appointed Apostolic Administrator of Derry on 26 October 1993. Retired as Apostolic Administrator on 26 April 1994.
















"PASCE OVES MEAS"


Bishop Daly's Motto "Pasce Oves Meas" means "Feed my sheep". The crest with the oak tree and the dove symbolises the wish for a new flowering of peace and strengthening of faith in the city of St. Colmcille and the see of St. Eugene.
