Brunswick Screening for Sr Clare Crockett Film - 16th & 18th April @ 6pm

The second anniversary of the death of the young Derry nun, Sr Clare Crockett, in an earthquake in Ecuador, will be marked this month with the release of a film about her remarkable life.

The lively 33-year-old Servant Sister died when the school building she was in collapsed on April 16, 2016, and since then the Home of the Mother Servant Sisters have been receiving correspondence from friends and acquaintances of Sr Clare...and even strangers...about wonderful happenings in their lives.

The Sisters initially felt moved to publish the memories shared, short letters and thank-you notes that they received, and then the thought of making a film about Sr Clare's life was acted on, resulting in the production of 'All or Nothing: Sr Clare Crockett'.

The documentary includes over 15 years of photographs and videos of the life of Sr Clare, who was following an acting career when she felt a strong urge to give her life in service to God.

The film also has interviews with her parents, close friends from her youth, Home of the Mother founder, Fr Rafael, and Servant Sisters who were very close to her.

The film is to be shown, free of charge, in the Brunswick Moviebowl on Monday, April 16, and again on Wednesday, April 18, at 6 pm.

The doors will be open from 5 pm for those who would like time to chat to the Servant Sisters, who will travel up from Roscommon, where they opened a 'house' in the Diocese of Elphin last year to mark the first anniversary of Sr Clare's death.

Prior to the showing of the film, the Sisters will pray the Rosary at Sr Clare's grave in the City Cemetery at 4 pm and all are welcome to join them.

Brunswick Moviebowl, which has donated the use of a screen for the two showings of the documentary, is located at Brunswick Lane, within Pennyburn Industrial Estate, just off the Buncrana Road, in Derry.

The cinema contact number for any queries regarding the film is – 028 71 371999.
