Diploma in Pastoral Theology - Two-year part-time course

The Drumalis Retreat Centre are offering a two year part-time intensive course in Pastoral Theology, starting in September 2021. The Diploma in Pastoral Theology programme aims to develop and integrate the personal, academic and professional development of the participant for ministry.

Drumalis Retreat Centre, in association with St Patrick's Pontifical College, Maynooth, invite applications for this two-year, part-time, intensive course which begins in September 2021. The course will run on the basis of 6 in-house days and 18 evening sessions per year for two years.

The main aim of this course is to equip people for skilled and supervised active lay ministry within a parish or church community. The course is knowledge and skill based and grounded in experiential learning.

This qualification enables people to play a leading role in the development of Christian mission and ministry as practitioners, educators and evangelizers with the people of God.

At the heart of pastoral theology is the engagement between theology and ministry. The programme includes the study of topics relevant to pastoral theology and ministry from scripture, theological tradition, contemporary culture, supervision and communications.
