Rev Malachy Gallagher was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Derry in Saint on Mary's Drumagarner, Kilrea on 30th July, 2017 by Bishop Donal McKeown.
Malachy attended St Patrick's Primary School, Glen and St Bridget's Mayogall, and is a past-pupil of St Patrick's Maghera.
He studied Philosophy at St Malachy's Diocesan Seminary in Belfast. He then spent four and half years with the Divine Word Missionaries in Chicago and Taiwan. Malachy completed his theological studies at the Angelicum in Rome.
In August 2017 Bishop McKeown appointed Malachy to serve as curate in the parishes of Glendermott and Strathfoyle.
